Our Nursery

Our nursery in Aguas Zarcas

At our farm "Finca Leona" we have the nursery. The construction of our nursery started in late 2005 - and in summer 2006 the nursery is full of rainforest plants. All plants are in pots - bigger trees in wood boxes. The plants stand in beds.

The new facilities are made by local workers. Mostly we have 10-15 persons in job. This way we support an income for up to 15 families in the local village. And we must say that we are happy to find out that some of the workers now work for us instead of having af job in the illegal timberbusiness.

Photos shows the new road going through the nursery-area. The road is made by local workers. More plant beds and ditches are still in process.

In May 2006 we constructed a new 40 sqm greenhouse - and new toilet and bath facilities in the nursery. The photo beneath shows the house, when it was almost done.

We use peatmoss for the plants.

Our caretakers, William and Laura Villegas, are taking good care of the plants in the nursery. We have a good cooperation regarding development and new ideas.
